Don't forget about the ILF. It has a grip similar to the Cheyenne but shoots either the longbow limbs or the recurve limbs. The deflexed riser on the Cheyenne and the ILF seem to shoot better than the straighter riser on the Shawnee, but if you want fixed longbow limbs, then the Shawnee is the one to go with. Someday Bob is going to make longbow limbs for the Cheyenne, but not yet. I have all three models of the bows, and you can't go wrong with any of them. Bob is even coming out with a metal riser ILF. They look nice if you are into metal and want to shoot with a plunger, but I personally am not going to get one of them.

If you want to stay recurve I prefer the Cheyenne, if you think you'll want longbow limbs then the Shawnee is the only choice right now in non-ILF. His ILF riser as stated above give you the riser benefits of the Cheyenne while allowing you to use Bob's LB and RC limbs plus those made by many others in many price ranges.

I own a Shawnee w/Dakota longbow limbs and an ILF w/recurve limbs.  Both are fine bows but my personal favorite is the ILF.  The mass and styling of the riser (Cheyenne like)and smooth drawing limbs are a sweet combination.  You can't go wrong with either though.

Cheyenne for me as I prefer the looks of the riser. Although I don't have an educated opinion as I have never shot the Shawnee.

Owned both and I currently have 2-Shawnees now. Loved the Cheyenne but like the bolts in the rear a little better on the Shawnee. Plus I can go longbow if I want. Both bows are awesome. The foam cores are the "cats meow" though!

I had both and preferred the Shawnee, just comes down to grip.  I also liked the dakota limbs that you can get for the shawnee.  Both are great performers.  Was my favorite bow for a long time.

Bobs been working on me about the Shawnee plus I like the look. A friend of mine just recieved his Shawnee Saterday. I tell you, I own two Cheyennes but I think the Shawnee recurve is quieter. Looks like the limb design has less string track. I've had one on order for months just wanted to hear your opinions. Thanks

I agree Wapitimike. I had a Cheyenne and have shot a Shawnee. The Shawnee was quieter and smoother.

If you are a recurve shooter go with the chyeene , better pointability. If you perfer longbows, you can't beat the shawnee.
