I have no experience with the three under tab since I shoot split finger, but the Bateman Cordovan tab with finger spacer is outstanding. 3-Rivers sells it under their name, but like you, I will not buy it alone because of the minimum shipping charge. I buy my tabs at 3-D shoots where vendors are present to avoid this excessive charge, or I stack my 3 Rivers order with other traditional shooters and split the freight. Either way, the Bateman cordovan tab is what I would recommend.

Lot of folks recommending the BW 3-under tab. I agree. I've tried others. But none work better for me . . . or feel more natural.

My BW tabs wouldn't last very long. I used to get the hair tabs and the rubber layer would always rip and the hair wears off fast.
They were usually toast within a month.

imo, the Cavalier tab(split finger design) is the best 3 under tab out there. Your hook up is consistant due to the plastic plate on the tab. Not to mention a very slick(smooth) realese.

Why not just use a regular tab? That's what I've been doing for a long, long time.

Next time try your own style as they are very easy to make for almost nothing

The Black Widow calf hair tab does lose the calf hair too soon. However, I've been shooting the same cordovan one for over two years, and it is well-worn-in, and still going strong. I replace the velcro with elastic.

Make my own from cordovan leather, slick and wears for "almost" forever. It's a "two holer" at the first and middle finger with the part that contacts the string 3 fingers wide!

Maybe I'm just not used to shooting a tab. I've always used a glove. I shot about 20-25 arrows and my fingers were sore.

That Tippit is pretty handy for a vet. Makes knives, hunts whatever moves, and still finds time to make tabs. Got to love a guy like that.

Leo if you're up in the Kenner area anytime soon stop by Tandy Leather on Airline Hwy. You can dig through thier scrap leather bin and pick up enough to make several tabs for minimal expense.

Another vote for the Cavalier Elite cordovan. Works for Rod Jenkins, and works for me too!

Thanks guys. I had no idea this thread would actually turn into a tab learning experience.
Here's the thing, I like the tab, but I think I need to find a good anchor with it. My groups are tighter than they've been, but not on target. I have them hitting high and left. I brought it to the LTB shoot this past weekend and shot it on the practice range. I had to switch to the glove for the course.

I don't mean to hijack this thread. But it recently switched to 3 under. I always made my own tabs when I shot split finger. I made two tabs for three under and now my fingers get really sore. I shot a weekend tournament and I actually got a blister on my middle finger.
Any suggestions?
My tabs are cordvan leather with soft thin leather on the back from an old wallet.

Try the Saunders PAK tab. It is tough but very slick plastic. Great finger protection and a very fast slick release. I've used them for nearly twenty years.
