My older brother has a daughter that is the same age as my granddaughter-13. My oldest grandchild is 16; my youngest grandson is a year older- than my younger brothers year and half old son.

 Family get-togethers are really confusing.

I remember milk delivered in a horse drawn 'truck'; and the milk came in bottles with paper tabs on the top.
I remember 'duck and cover'. I remember fallout shelters.
I remember singing 'happy trails to you' and 'have gun will travel'; and when you could have shoot outs with imaginary guns at SCHOOL.
I remember bobby socks; and drug stores being where you bought a soda.
I remember seeing a veteran of the civil war.
I remember the pledge of alliegence when it didn't mention God.
I remember the indian that was on the nickle; and one on the tv set at night.
I remember when the television stations ran out of shows; and you would sit next to a big wooden radio: and listen to George Burns and Gracie Allen.
I remember Jack Parr on the tonight show.
I remember the spring when all the birds died on the campus of Michigan State University; and a lady called Rachel Carson.
I remember when real men burned doe tags; and the best hunters got their deer in the first minutes of opening day.
I remember solid red hunting clothes.
I remember when rivers used to catch fire.
I remember when the police arrested you for playing 'rock and roll'.
I remember coal furnaces and clinkers and hot radiators in every room.
I remember when cars had fins.
And eating fish on friday was a sin!
And wearing 'tenner' shoes with white socks.
I remember peg pants and heavy black framed glasses and sliderulers.
And pocket liners; and 'fruit loops' on shirts.
I remember calling everyone 'Sir' or "Mam".
I remember flouride treatments. And shots that felt like mosquito bites ( so they said).
I remember small pox shots; and polio.
I remember when it took time to change reels half way through a movie- and the time filled up with little short movies: about guys called Hill and Bear.
I remember when I hunted: where those shopping malls are.
I remember when bikes weighed more than I did.
I remember when you could order a rifle through the mail.
I remember when adults: were people in college.
I remember when I had been outside at recess and when it was mine turn to drink- I was stopped by Ted Kennedy and Bobby Kennedy: who took my turn.
I remember when I sat on a mountian in Vermont and a guy asked me what I was looking at: and I told him the trees; and the clouds and the water; and the birds.... and he told me to never stop seeing those precious things.. his name was Robert Frost.
I rememeber watching the military stand guard around secret missle silos in the middle of nowhere; and people taking trips to see them.
I remember the first arrow I shot at a deer; and at the same time - the first time I missed a deer...
I think no matter how old we are; we are only old when we decide not to make anymore memories.

Actually, will be 62 the next Friday the 13th. Will be offically retired April 30th. and I'm on vacation until then. So I feel like 18 and starting a new career. My body's still 62 though.

I can almost remember when I could do all day what now takes me all day to do. Just turned 60. Married 38 years to the same Lady who still lets me buy toys. Ain't got a darn thing to complain about.

I'm 27, though there are days when I feel twice that and others when I act half of it.

I'm 58 been shooting since age 8.  Shot 28 targets with my 4 year old grandson last year at a traditional shoot.  Can't get any better than that.

60 years old, I have been bowhunter for 52 of them.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside thoroughly used up, totally worn out, with bible in hand and loudly proclaim...WOW...What a Ride!!!

Ragi...that is misleading.  I started my annual 21st birthday three years early (college).
