Scoutin' With The Kids.....
« on: March 19, 2009, 09:55:00 PM »
Picked'um from school and we hit the woods....

Picnic on a big rock first.....

Cade climbin' and wishing he had his bow...

The first of many "big finds".....

Still workin' the orchard....

Then we hit the woods, first time for Mae-Mae....

Cade showing his little sister the finer points of "deer poop"....She passed when he asked her to feel it.....

Big brother took it upon himself to clear the way for little sis....

more to follow....

One Mae-Mae found...

This was big surprise...one heck of a rub for this area....you can still see where he tore the ground up with his front hooves as he worked all the way around the tree....

Back out in the open.....

A little break...

Freshly opened woodchuck hole....

Ready to go home...(No, I didn't let them ride on the road back there)....

First thing they ask when we get home...."can we shoot our bows?"...(insert big smile)....

A great way to spend St. Patty's day afternoon!

I'll be back for a little more serious scouting and setting stands.....

No better way to spend any time at all in the field than with your kids. Seeing things through their eyes keeps it all fresh.
PS: Where did you get that super cool Trad Gang decal on your rear window???
