Hardwoods I would have to go with Allegheny arrows, Bill has some great hickory and lam birch plus others depending on what you like.  For Doug Fir I've been real pleased with surewoods.

I would have to say Brock at Bull Mt Archery! He makes the nicest and he is cheap as well.

Badger Arrows and many others. The best I have ever seen are made by HOTHAP Hap Billingsley, he don't make them for sale though but they are phenominal!! Made me a dozen once that were all 77#s on the button and weighed within 5 grains. Shawn

It would be difficult to qualify one as being "best", but there are several who make very good wood shaft arrows.  Within TradGang, I would include Bob Burton, Badger Arrow, Stu Miller, jlnft, and would like to include myself.  Outside of TG, I would include Jim Curlee and Paul Jalon.  There are others in both categories that I'm not thinking of at the moment or whose work I am not familiar with, such as Hot Hap.  Making good arrows is not necessarily difficult, but does require dedication to the trade and serious attention to detail.

I can tell ya right now that Rick aka Fletcher, makes some very fine arrows as does Paul Jalon and Bob Burton. Al Kidner in Australia makes some mean looking and well flying arrows also. All are top notch in my book.

I have a a few dozen and they are well made. I think he gets most of his components from three rivers. Good guy and he puts his seconds on **** and I look there to pickup a half dozen here and there.

Have only used arrows made by Brock at Bull  Mountain Archery, my self made ones, and 3 dozen from another sponser here at TG.  I will be going to Brock when ever the future need arrises. Beautiful matched arrows, very high quality, very pleasing to the eye, "Priced Right" and fly as good as my carbons....      :clapper:

I my opinoion there are no finer wood arrows than those made by Paul Jalon of Elite Arrows.  They are perfectly straight, within 3 pounds of spine, and are +/- 5 grains in weight.  Then add the quality of his finish and you have a wood arrow that will fly just as good as any aluminum or carbon I have ever shot.

Although I usually make my own arrows, so I haven't tried a lot that others have made, I have had a dozen of Rick Stillman's (Fletcher's) arrows, and really can't imagine any finer. Besides being just beautiful, every one was dead straight, and they never seem to need restraightening. Rick is truely a master craftsman.
