The bird turned to run off, 2 steps, and then stopped, dropped into a strut and came back at B-mobile.
Dumb move thunder chicken!
I quickly grabbed another arrow out of my quiver and knocked it.
This arrow had a sharp woodsman attached  :)
Its funny what goes through your mind during a shot. As I was drawing, I thought about Mr. Lambs thread from last week, and how he likes quartering away shots, I also thought of a thread where someone likes to shoot them in the hip. Disables that leg and with the quartering away, you get the vitals.
The gobbler dropped his strut and turned to the right, all I could see was that upper hip in my minds eye, and then an arrow appeared in that exact spot!  :)
I watched the bird run off and then fall down. Here is what I saw when I walked up on him.

Praise to the creator and Happy dance time  :)

The bird had a 9 3/4 inch beard, 3/4 in. spurs, and weighed 21 lbs. Probably a 2 year old and I was pleased as punch to get him.

Here I am with my possum eaten something good grin.

Will I try the bullhead again, probably. I have another tag and 4 days free starting thursday. Wish me luck and thanks for following along.

Chris Rice

Whatever you're doing keep doing it. Trad turkeys are very hard to get and you have 4. Well done.

Instead of the Bullhead you could just get one of the whistling arrow heads for your warning shot. Nice follow up Rice.
