Of the two...what you you buy!
« on: March 23, 2009, 10:12:00 PM »
What would you get?

Option #1:   An arrow cut off saw…professional one with a dust collector.  I build lot arrows for myself and friends, granted it doesn’t cost much to go get them cut but it would be nice to have one.

Option #2:   Badlands Monster Fanny pack…I have a 2200 and love it but I’d like to replace a cheaper smaller backpack I have with this one.  I’m not going to sell the 2200 so I’d have both.

I’d use them about the same…pack during 2-4 months a year off and on.  The saw could be used anytime but not often in the scheme of things.

Both would be nice to have but I only have the money for one or the other.

I have a gift certificate to Cabela's so they'd both be cover.

I would get the pack.  You can get a cheap cut off saw from Harbor Frieght and it works just as well for the number of arrows you would cut on it.  But that is just the way I would look at it.

Go with the cut-off saw. I don't have either one but I would rather have the saw. Very handy to have around.

Get the pack-you can cut arrows with just about anything. I use my 10" chop saw with a fine blade and cut a bunch at a time. Or, do what Tim suggests above.

I guess I just don't know what I want...I have a $200 gift card and nothing pressing that I really need...bunch of things I want.

This isn't a lot of money but it kind of is if you know what I mean...just enough to do some damage so to say.  I've always wanted a cut-off saw for the arrows I build...5 dozen or so a year and now that I'm shooting carbon you need a good saw.  I could save up and get a bigger ticket item but in this economy I don’t want to over extend.  Both would be covered with what I have.

I love my Badland 2200 and the Monster would be great also so that is on the list…some camo is on the list but not much else.

I’ve had two different items and took them both back…just can’t make up my mind.

I know this is like asking what truck to buy…it’s kind of a personnel choice thing, but I’m on the fence.  Might just wait and see if anything just jumps out at me that I need but it’s burning a whole in my pocket    …hate it when they do that!

Arrow cut off saw??? You gotta be kidd'n-- We don't need no stink'n arrow cut off saw.  Come on, how hard is it to cut off an arrow?

Definitely go w/ the backpack--its what you want anyway.

Send me the gift certificate and I'll suprise you!

Ok, just kidding, the pack of course, for the reasons above and.... if you want to do nice deads for your friends you can carry stuff for them in the pack.     :bigsmyl:

I'd get the pack not much use for the cutoff saw using Split Hex shafts. Frank

This one is simple.  You need to find a friend with a cut off saw.  They sit most of the time.  Or you can be that guy, and let your buddy buy a new pack!  I guess I got nothing.

A very cheap miter saw with a cutoff wheel will do 1 dz. arrows at a time.  I would go with a Bison Gear pack and support one of the TG sponsors instead of the 2 other products made over seas.  Just my opinion.   :knothead:   If you do use the gift card, buy American.  JD

Okay since I’m getting torched on this one I’ll turn it around on you.

Since almost everyone on here has gotten a Cabela’s catalog in the past what would you get if you had $200?

I’m thinking about a Badlands Monster Pack
Arrow saw
Left wing clamp for my Jo-Jan fletcher
L-wing feathers, R-wing feathers
Broadheads
GPS Nav. Unit
New scope for a gun
Boots for the cold weather
Camo…always looking to get camo of some sort
Fishing supplies

I can get most of the smaller stuff whenever I have some extra money but a lot of above takes a lot of money…I could save up and get a more expensive item.

So what would you get?  Not from above but from your list of “wanted” items.

Josh, I'd get a couple of targets for the backyard range.  Maybe a strutting turkey and a deer or coyote...Mike

That is not a bad idea...a 3-D target would be great practice!

Might get a turkey and a deer...hmmmmm.

Yes, now that I've thought about it, I like the 3D target idea too. Yeah, do it Josh!

I would have gone with the saw until they mentioned the 3D targets. I have a saw and it is really nice to have anytime I want.

I have a military issue pack, and a hacksaw so neither one for me.  I think you need to sit down and think it out for yourself.  You can see some of these guys already forgot which two items you mentioned.  You make the decision.
