Thanks

I saw  this old thread while searching for feedback on these bows, and if anyone is interested, I shot a couple of John's bows today and all I can say is WOW!

Very smooth, insignificant handshock as far as I could tell and they do fling an arrow- I don't think anyone would be wanting for better down range performance. I shot better with a Rampart in 30 seconds than I have ever shot with my other bow after 4 months.

oh, and they look great too. Well made.

Joshua, just excited, thats all.

Great bows.  I bought on in April and shot a bear with it 3 weeks later in sask.  I tried out others well named bows and the rampart was the best by far

Rocky Mountain Specialty Gear in Arvada sells them.  They are a sponsor here.  Ken

Yes John is still making bows. For those who are wondering who may have never heard of them - John does not advertise, and he builds bows at his own pace. He could become a very well known bowyer in no time if he had the desire to have a years long backlog of orders.

Of course I may come across as biased since we sell his bows, but the Ramparts are my favorite r/d longbow. I have been fortunate enough to have the chance to shoot most of the popular bows out there, and in my opinion, I have not found one better. Several which I have liked equally as much, but none that I thought were better.

There has been several occasions where we have had lots of big named bows in the shop all at once. On those occasions, customers with no intention of buying a bow, just wanting to shoot them because they have never had the chance to shoot all those popular bows, have been so impressed with the Rampart that they ended up leaving with one. I have told that story several times to describe Ramparts.
