Mohawk or Northern Mist Baraga
« on: March 25, 2009, 12:34:00 PM »
I'm thinking about buying one of these mild R/D bows. I would like to get opinions from you who have shot both of these. What is your favorite? How are they different? The grip, craftmanship, shock, performance etc

I have never shot a Mowhawk but the Northern Mist is a fantastic bow.

Baraga! its an awesome bow. Cant say anything bad about it

And here it is after work. As you can see the arrow is far back, the deer was quartering away when I was almost at anchor a deer behind me ( I didnt see) bolted causing this one to turn at the same time I was releasing and the arrow went into the hindquarter then got stomach and liver. Went about 40 yards if that. This bow is 53 @ 28 I draw a tad over 27

I've never shot a Mohawk but I miss my Baraga that bow would throw an heavy arrow with authority!

Of course it's new owner shows it some much better scenery out in WY.

Hey Drew,
My baraga has similar limb veneers.  Haven't shot a Mowhawk but I'll never part with my Baraga.

Loving the Baraga I got from Drew. It so far has accounted for a nice whitetail, a turkey, and just yesterday, two javelina. Thanks Drew, you should have asked more for the bow!

I've owned one Mohawk, shot another, and have one on order. The Mohawk is as good as most bows that cost $200 more. Never shot a Northern Mist but from what I've heard they're fine bows.

I'd love to shoot the Baraga, one day.

I have one Mohawk....and one on order.  It'll be tough parting with one of them.....and I might not!

Good luck.  I can't tell you which way to go....just that I am pleased with my choice.

Another pic of the Baraga I got from Drew. It is a beauty, but now I have to clean the javelina blood off of it before I take another picture.
