I have always wanted to try out a long bow but don't know anyone who shoots one.  I saw a post on TG regarding Dryad bow blanks.  I emailed Mike (Wingnut) a couple times asking him at least a dozen questions.  He quickly replied each time.  He was courteous, thorough, patient, and very helpful. I ended up ordering one of his bow blanks and if they are half as good as his helpful/courteous service, I will be very pleased. If anyone out there who has completed one of Mike's bow blanks and has any advice or comments, I would be interested in hearing what you have to say.

Mike and Dryad are truely top notch.   :D

You'll be incredibly suprized at the completion on that blank - one word of warning, when it's done you'll want to do another.

Wingnut is off on a trip so he likely can't respond for a bit.

Dryad builds a great bow blank. I have been using a tillered one practicing for the Tradtional Nationals York round.  Sweet shooter.

gsmitty,

If you follow the "build-a-long" on Dryad's website, you can't go wrong.

I have finished two of Dryad's blanks, both of which look great. They shoot well, too.

Given the pricing of Dryad's "bow blanks" these bows are hard to beat. Mike, Connie, and Jason are supplying an excellent product at a very fair price.

Now, that being said, I will be ordering at least one more "bow blank" soon, possibly two. Since I "gifted" the previous two bows I have finished, I need one for myself!

Can any of you post some pix showing what the strung profile of one of these bow blanks looks like, please?

I bought a bow blank and finished it. Great bow loved a heavy arrow and was pretty easy to finish. I'm going ot get another sometime because I just sold it. But they are fun to finish and shoot. My first one was just a bit to heavy for me.

Trashwood, I hope Mike returns home soon so that he can rough out my bow and send it out to me. I am really excited about getting it so that I can work on it.  I will let you guys know how it turns out.  I will try to get some pictures before, during and after if I get a chance.
