WOOOHOOO!! Mailman delivers
« on: March 26, 2009, 10:48:00 AM »
Mailman just pulled up to the house beeping the horn. Two long skinny packages in the back of the truck means it's happy time here.

They are both from trades, a Hill Cheetah and a John Sherman longbow. Two beautiful bows, both 58@28 and 66" long, with locator grips. Now I just need some of that warming stuff to get the snow off my yard.

I'll get out this weekend with Mackenzie. I'll get some better pictures at the same time.

Dave, I was born in Dixie. I'll live up here and all, but there's a reason I don't own snowshoes or a sled. When it gets cold enough and the snow is deep enough, I put a new keg in the kegerator and work bamboo. Yep, I don't like the deep cold. When I was stationed in ND, I spent enough time out in it to last me a while    :readit:

IA, it's cocobolo riser and tip overlays, with an extra lam of bamboo under the Juniper. It's absolutely gorgeous    :goldtooth:

Yeah, I love the Hills, but the John Sherman draws sweet. I may have to put my tall boots on and shovel out a target this afternoon. It will be interesting to see how they compare.

I have some new leather to make a grip and strike plate for the Sherman. What's a good way to remove old glue of unknown type? And what do y'all recommend to put a new one on with?

OK, this was for VM13. I ain't a wimp, but it's hard to find arrows in snow and I'm cheap    :p

Here's the two new ones

The Hill grouped 3 nicely, bottom 3 arrows, need to play with the nock point on the SHerman a bit. The top 2 were from it.

The kids wanted to go watch. Murphy is the black, Bailey is the chocolate.

Dave, I'll get some pictures of Mackenzie this weekend. Sophie will be out of town with the wife, but Mac and I are shooting bows, attending a muzzleloader shoot, and moving in a new safe.

Very nice. You won't lose any arrows if you keep them in the target Kevin.    :p

Heck, if I could keep 'em all in the target, I could save a couple of $$ and buy smaller targets. Way it is, I buy the biggest I can find    :scared:

Hi Kevin,
what beautiful bows! I am haunted by water and ... Hills,  as Norman could say; it is my first time I saw a John Sherman bow, who can give some more information about him and his bows? Has John a internet site? Thanks in advance.
