Had the good fortune to hunt hogs with Jim Belcher a number of years ago on the King ranch...I remember one of our party was excited about a hog squealer he had brought along. he was convinced hogs would come running right to him.
Jim looks at him across the campfire and says "You want to call hogs? Go lay down in the road over there and make corn noises.".
I about busted a gut....

My poor Chocolate Lab was VERY perplexed by sounds coming eminating from my computer. Full head tilt one way, full head tilt the other, and a near attempt to crawl up on my lap!
Raised hogs for over 40 years... never heard one QUITE like that!!!!!
Baby pig in ditress calls can work well, but you may not like the results when she comes in!

Tried a hog grunt call this year. Had 2 smallish boars come in and shot one. He ran in a circle and fell over the other one was nervous but still hanging around out of range. Decided to try my new hog grunt call, that pig got out of there in a hurry after a couple of grunts. There was another pig behind me that I never got a look at but could hear it move around. It stayed there untill I started climbing down from the stand before running. So one ran from the grunt the other stayed around but didnt come in.
My one time experience, I guess if they were out of range and you had nothing to loose it would be worth a try. Also to my tune def ears sounds just like a buck grunt:)
