I just spoke with Rod this morning. He has a surprise for you guys! You'll just have to wait until we get to the range....it is well worth the wait! How's that for a tease?! haha

I'd just like to say publicly how much I appreciate what Rod is doing for archery. He is going out of his way to travel all the way across the country to help a handful of archers learn how to shoot better and from this enjoy archery more. I feel it is our duty and privilege to then pass on what we know to the next generation. So I will be all ears and eyes, a willing student.
He is a very busy guy with his SafariTuff business and other things. But he is making this happen for us.  THANKS ROD! Can't wait to shake your hand in person.

I managed to get deposits down for myself and my foster son.  He's retiring at the end of the month and this will be both his retirement gift and our first "adventure" together after he stops working.  We're gonna try and get him a new longbow built before then, too.    Lot's of excitement.

Either Uncle Fred or Uncle Louie will be coming, too.   They're still fighting about it.   They won't be shooting, though... All they do is drink and lie...  Might let 'em eat some of that barbecue... though it gives 'em gas somethin' fierce....

No water or electricity hookups for trailers sorry, for those that want to Motel it I would book your rooms now as that time of year is tough to say the least in Hood River, call me for motel phone #s. Another thought however for those that really just have to have the trailer we can find space( may not be right there) just no hook ups. but hey only a couple nights in a tent come on!
Beer, barBQ and a campfire , by the time Rod gets done with yall and the food as well as a couple adult beverages you will be ready for a sleeping bag

Runamuk, hope you are catching some steelhead! I want a fishing report.

Howdy Snag, Well it was kind'a slow but i did manage to hook around 20 stelies and boated 14,
caught one that went 36" that was a blast most were 23"to 30"..
It snowed and the wind blew on us quite a bit, but that was ok we were the only boat on the water for that stretch of river on those days..

I just got home late last night, so i will send out my deposit this morning..
Thank you,, and all involved for this great oppertunity...THANKS ROD!!!
Also i can bring my 12x14 wall tent if some folks need a place to stay, It will sleep 3 very comfortably and 4 with no problem..
I am really looking forward to meeting everybody and gettig a chance at learning from one of the best..
Tyler

So that's a slow day on the river?!!! Sounds like too much fun! If you are catching steelhead like that you can keep warm or is it you forget about the cold..?  Steelhead on the bbq...oh, yeah!  What river did you say you were fishing? haha

We'll talk more as time goes on. Thanks for the response.  David

SO I am a little confused now as I asked before if I could bring the motor home and was told yes you can and there would be a space. If I am not right there I wont be able to get back and fourth.

Elkslayer, I was under the impression there was room at the range for a motorhome. I am in the process of clarifying this and I will let you know.
Just received deposits from Biglegmax and Dick W.  Thanks guys, David

Yep it was a very good time, We were on the Salmon River below the East fork..
My first time in a drift boat and first time Steelhead fishing in Idaho,,  Talk about beginners luck... I guess i was just getting the perfect drift..
I didn't catch em all in one day, I fished the first evening and 3 days of can see to can't see..
I caught 9 on the last day,,A big ol slug of em just moved up the night before..
We did keep one that was hooked kind'a deep and wraped him in foil with some butter and spices then cooked it on the bbq  OH MY-MY,, fried taters and some Elk steak in the dutch oven,,OOOOHH GOODNESS SAKES I wish i was back there right now.. Then after that great meal ,,I then proceeded to give the boys a whoopin in cribbage that they won't soon forget..
Yep the stars were lined up just right for ol Tyler on that trip...
Look forward to talking about and planning this trip to Oregon,,I am as excited about this as any trip i have planned this year..Tyler

No ,there is no room at the range for a motor home or trailer, there is room near there but you will have to walk a bit to get to the range.
You can however park on the street at Raptor Archery and we can figure out how to carpool from there to the range elkslayer.
Parking at the range is limited and very tight getting in and out for big vehicles.
So we are going to save the room we have for the guys with tents and cars, not to mention any one else in the club coming to use the range, this is a small club with a nice little range.
As I said earlier we can make due for any of you that do want to bring a motorhome or trailer , just give me a call and let me know , then we will find a spot for you ,just wont be at the range.

I plan on camping at the range and enjoying the summer sky before turning in. But if you would like to look for lodging here is a website to look at:
