I think you will get good penetration, just my opinion. The only problem is that you'll hit left if you're right handed.
But if your arrows are TOO stiff and/or your arrow pass is TOO far from center: my experience is that they will smack the bow on release and hit RIGHT as opposed to left. But I shoot self bows with a somewhat low brace height.
Spine is all about getting your arrows to hit where you aim, oscillation or not. The trouble is that oscillation will ALWAYS be a factor. Stiffer arrows oscillate less, therefore they fly truer quicker. The problem lies with how "true" they fly. They are pointing left ( for a right hander ) on a noncentershot bow. Other circumstances not withstanding, they will stay true to that course.
The key lies with getting them to shoot where you are aiming with as little or as much oscillation as needed to get them there. The less oscillation, the better. The quicker they "right" themselves in flight in accordance with your aim, the better.
I've never used carbons, but I hear they are good at that.
