Took a walk this morning looking for sheds, never found any but had a great morning stump shooting. Had a couple good friends along with me, first one is Jake a good friend and hunting buddy.
This is his first trip into the woods with a traditional bow, I am trying to convert him from the dark side. Second one is my constant companion for the last 10 years Tucker the wonder dog.
The weather could not have been any better, about 30 deg. with no wind and bright sunshine. We did manage to see about 30 deer trying to keep away from us, 3 hen pheasants and one rabbit.
How far up in the air do you still consider a tree’s stump to be?
This arrow is in the main stump of the tree it’s just about 20’ up in the air. I tried to hit a blackbird setting just to the right of where the arrow is stuck in the tree.
Took a little work to get this one down.
Found this old beach ball dated July 4th 2000 and it still had air in it. It’s not often you find a target like that out in the middle of the woods.
I managed to let the air out of it, Jake was just a little high at about 15 yards.
This is the bow I bought used off a fellow TG member.(Thanks Dalebow) It is a Crooked Stic made by TG member CrookedStic. A great shooting bow at 65” ntn 51@28.
All in all we had a great morning and can’t wait till next week to do it again. Thanks for reading Glenn
