Bear Take-down bow question
« on: March 30, 2009, 08:32:00 AM »
I am relatively new to this site.
I have two bear takedown bows one I bought 4 years ago and one I picked up used 20 years ago.
The newer bow is a Bear take-down hunter.    The limbs are held on by long bolts, the others I have seen have a latch mechanism and Bear no longer makes limbs for it.
My other bow has thick fiberglass limbs and a magnesium (I think)riser.  Does anyone have any information on this bow?  Someone said it was a Patriot but in a limited search I have found nothing about it.  Thanks in advance.

Post some photos and I am sure the members of the site can help you with identification.
I think the Bear Takedowns are great bows. I have 3 of my own.
Best regards,

The one with solid fiberglass limbs is a Bear 76'r takedown. They made a similar riser and used laminated limbs with it and called it the Minuteman.  They were a low price offering from Bear during the early 70's.   The Bear Takedown Hunter was offered in the 1980's. None of those models can be confused with the yoke and latch takedowns.
