Lotsa goo was on lotsa arras.

Just a taste: Ever heard of a feller skewer two pheasants in full flight with an arra? Ever heard of a young man condor a quail clean outta the air as it exploded from underneath his toe? Ever seen a pheasant bobbing and weaving through the air dodging flu-flus like a WWII fighter dodging ack-ack flak? Ever get so tired slingin arras at flushed game you had to sit down? Ever seen a fine bird dog quit giving you crazy looks after it gets accustomed to the "whoosh!" of a fluflu and he sees a few birds fall but still no gunshot? Ever hear somebody say "Yer huntin 'em with WHAT? Ya'll are crazy, they're hard enough to hit with a shotgun." Ever donate a pint of yer blood to the health and well being of blackberry bushes?

Welllll...jest hold on then, cuz it's a comin!

Amen brother.....and glad you and your family were a part of it all!

This whole trip was the result of this project and getting it to Terry...
 http://tradgang.com/noncgi/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=072077;p=1

I decided it was time to head south and Dad was all for being a part of the delivery, helping with the drive, and sharing as much adventure as we could fit in in a couple days!

We would go directly to Terry to drop off the mount, spend the night at 'Casa De Coots', and the next morning to head for Alabama to spend the next couple days with Don and Skyler and the rest of the Wilson family.

We pulled out of here at 4:00am Thursday and I was huggin' Terry and introducing him to Dad about 7:30pm. It was a long drive, but getting to see Terry again made it all worthwhile.

Once we got the deer unloaded and I could see it had made it with hardly a hair out of place I could finally breath again   :notworthy:    :clapper:

The best part was all of us sitting on the porch talking till it it was time for all of us to hit the rack.

After meeting Terry and family, Joe and his family, my father was really starting to see why Trad Gang  and the friends I have made here are so special to me.....

Headed to Alabama Fri. morning and hung out with Don most of the day at his store. Met Don's dad Hershel, and also met Conan "The Natural Born Killer". He's a TG member, but not sure what his handle is. But I suggest a change to "TNBK"....

Went to visit a very talented taxidermist, and then once school was done, headed to the house to meet Skyler, Tammy, and of course "The Boss" little Chloe Beth. I've known Don for a little over a year now, and after meeting his Mom Tammy, it's easy to see why he's a such a good kid....

Again, once meeting the whole Wilson family, Dad could understand why I talk so highly of my trad gang friends...

We met Don after he finished work and went out to have some real good Mexican food. Had a great meal in preparation for the main event.....a night of bowfishing!

I've bowfished a bunch, especially the last couple years with my friends Gary and Timmy. But this would be my first nighttime bowfishing outing!! After seeing what these guys shoot on the threads they have here on TG, I was really looking forward to this. After all I do kinda like to shoot stuff with my bow    ;)

To make it even better, My Dad was coming along to share our adventure!

We gathered our gear and were soon headed out...

Conan would be our captain, he's got an outstanding boat all tricked out for night bowfishing......

Skyler and I would do the shooting, Conan would drive and spot, and Don spotted and explained the why's and how's of doing this at night knowing it was my first time.....

I learned one thing real quick....them skinny little gar are hard to hit!!!

Skyler was first on the board with a good shot on a gar. I don't have a pic, so go ahead Wilson boys, you're up.....

Chase, you're exactly right it was a great week-end spent with some great friends. Curt and his father, Bob, have officially adopted by our family. My wife, Tammy, loved Bob. She is looking foward to them returning already. JC and Chase, sharing this adventure with us, made it that much better.......

Don, I've already figured out sleeping arrangements for you guys when you come up     :knothead:  . Don was the official camera man as he had his and mine while we were out on the boat. We can let the pix tell some of the story...

This is the biggest common carp I've killed, check out the belly on it....

Another....

We did eventually find a few big Buffalo carp. Don's got more pix than I do on my camera. Regrettably, we missed more of those giants than we killed     "[dntthnk]"  . But in our defense the water was muddy and the fish were sorta deep. But I don't know how many times I said..."I don't know how I missed that one"

Our biggest of the night....

Another pic of mine...
