Brushy Hill Ranch - Hog Hunting
«
on:
April 03, 2009, 01:24:00 AM »
I was looking into some hog hunts in TX and came across this place
http://www.brushyhill.com/index.html
Has anyone hunted there that could give me their opinions?
If not are there other places you might recommend for hogs? I have used the search function and found a few prospects, but thought I go fishin' for a few more ideas.
I had a hog hunt scheduled for the end of this month, but it looks as though it will not pan out, but I have the time off and would still like to go somewhere.
Thanks very much
Jake

Nobody knows hawgs better than our own Curtis - Littlefeather - 7th age archery. I'm headed back to Texas in 20 days for second round this year!

Do your research well on this ranch. I hunted there several years ago with a large group of ATHA (Association of Traditional Hunting Archers) members. The ranch (at that time) was severely over hunted. There were over twenty of us and not one animal was killed. There was only a few people that even saw an anything. Unless things have changed drastically, I could not recommend it.

I've hunted Brushy Hills 3 or 4 times. It does get a lot of pressure, and I emphasize a LOT...it also depends on what pasture you get put in....as far as a hog hunt, I'd look for another ranch.

Jake,
That's too bad about the hunt. I would hook up with Curtis. He is a great guy. I plan on heading down there in the near future.

Guys
Thanks for the candid thoughts about brushy hills. We are currently looking for a different direction.
Ryan
He is on my list to call, and I hope a Sweat is in my future..
