Does anyone serve their strings with fishing line? if ,so what # you use to match a knock on 16 strand string..thanks

Joebuck, what type, mono, braided, Spider wire? Yes you can, the size would be your choice. There is mono serving out there, but not my favorite, has to much memory. If it would break in the feild, it's tough to ty off. A few years ago, I was talking to Leon Stewart, he was using a type of fly fishing backing.

Thanks frank, don't really have a bow shop close so i was going to go to Wallyworld...I was thinking just 20#mono...clear......

I use Spiderwire to tye on catwhiskers, but not as serving.

heck, fishing monofilament line was all we used for serving back in the 60's/70's. imo, the modern hmpe fiber stuff is so much better ... it's not fun to see yer mono center serving rapidly unravelling off the string when it gets cut (as evenutally it will)!

Same here, I used some Power Pro braided line to tye on my Hush Puppy silencers. It would probably be pretty good for serving.
