I made me a few tree stands (pics)
« on: April 04, 2009, 10:59:00 PM »
work has been kinda slow so I decided to make a few loc on type stands. used an old stand that I had and really like as a pattern. got some 3/4" square tubing and a sheet of expanded metal, dusted off the welder and got to work. I had to make a die out of a 1/8" welding rod to go on a rebar bender i have to bend the tubing. I think they turned out rather nice. Don

they look great Don!   I bet one would look even better hanging in an oak tree where I hunt with me sitting in it.

Nice stands. Looks like a stand I've been using for probably 20 years. Simple and effective!

Excellent. One of my favorite stands. Is that foam pad on the blue seats. How many stands do you hang in a year, cuz that's a lot of extra?

The foam is from an old broadhead target.

I usually hang about a dozen or so, but since my boys are hunting two legged deer now, I guess I could get by with less.

Yeah, I know what you mean about the 20yr thing. I bought two of them. had one stolen years ago and the other, I left in a tree after the season went out and I think It got water in the tubing and froze and split the verticle tubing.

One feature I like is the ability to fold the platform up against the tree. makes it easier to hide. Also I like the higher seat highth. 18" on mine. thanks for the comments. Don
