what does hog sign look like?, my buddy and I went scouting on a new place but have no idea what hog sign looks like, does anyone have any pics?

Look for wallows where they have rolled around in the mud, rub marks low on tress, the ground all torn up from rooting.

Don't forget to "follow your nose", too! If you get into them or where they have been, the odor is unmistakable... Droppings are also noticeable and unique. :eek:

also, if the ground looks like it was turned with a bottom plow. Hog rooting sign is quite obvious.

Hog scat.
Heavy rooting sign.
Rubbing tree. Most are alot smaller. This one has been used for years.

It'll look like the ground was freshly tilled, with deer-like prints that are round instead of oblong, and if it's recent (within a couple of hours) the area will have a very distinct amonia-like stench. You can't miss it.
