3 Under with an older bow?
« on: April 13, 2009, 04:32:00 PM »
Is there any issue I should be aware of in using 3-under release with a Shakespeare Sierra (1972) recurve?  Where would you recommend I set the nock point for starters?  Thanks.

no problems.
start at 5/8" and work your way down.
if it's got an old string, replace it with a new b-50 string, don't want to have an old string break on ya for the small cost of a new one.

I shoot my mid-70s K-Mag 3-under, no worries at all.

Not a bit. You will just have to find the sweet spot for your nock (probably a little higher than for split).
