Our bows are so "smoking" we have to keep a fire hose handy

Actually I believe a hose is used in some bow making process.

I need to get about 7 feet of fire hose. The original piece I had for building longbows was cut so I could use it on a 50" recurve form.

The firehose is used for compression when you glue up laminated bows.  They are filled with air between two forms.

Guys, if you need fire hose I can probably get it for free. I'm an officer on the local Vol. dept. We have rolls of damaged hose taking up space around the station. Mostly "inch and a half" but also some 2 1/2". Let me know.
The great bow twanged. The black arrow sped straight from the string, straight for the hollow
by the left breast where the foreleg was flung wide. In it smote and vanished, barb, shaft,
and feather, so fierce was its flight.~J.R.R. Tolkien-The Hobbit

I have the opportunity to purchase 90 feet of
1 1/2" new fire hose that was ordered from a local fire supply co, but never picked up. I do not need the entire 90 feet. If anyone is interested in some or what I do not need, please let me know. The price will be $2.25 per foot, Binghams sells it $3.36 per foot.

Guys how bout check with your local firehouse?? I am D/C of a firehouse and will gladly give old or out of service hose? Some houses might not but I think most will - get a 50' section.

Yeah I can't imagine some Vol FD not having some old hose around that they will give you. Thats how I got mine.
