I used Excels on my last wheel bow as well.
Arrows making companies have a liability with their products and the last thing they want is a phone call saying a guy had to have his forearm surgically reconstructed...and he was using their arrows. So "blemished" arrows are a steal in the bang-for-your-buck category. They're not going to put out dangerous shafts.
The Trad world seems to be full of customer service that is second-to-none. I ordered a dozen carbonwood "blem" shafts from Sipsey River. Called on the phone and told John what my setup was since I was, and am, a complete newbie.
