Early morning Stump and scouting trip.
« on: April 16, 2009, 12:07:00 PM »
After dropping off my older daughter for school, Greta and I were off to check out a place I found a week or two ago.

I had seen a lot of sign and needed to get back out to give it a more thorough hike. We weren't there a few minutes and we ran into a small group of Turkey. I was surprised to get as close as we did with all the jibber jabber noise Greta makes. The Turkeys took off down a trail and I had a good laugh. Suddenly to the right of the trail in the brush I see movement. Its about half a dozen deer coming right at us! They get with in 10 yrds and get a nose full of us. Later deer.
Well, now that all the game has been run off, its time to start killin some stumps. I hiked through some incredible woods that were just loaded with deer and turkey. The sign was all around and I was bumping wild life all around. After much hiking and shooting, I came across this big pit in the hill side.

I decided to take a rest and I found that some one else was tired too.

After a rest I continued to pierce a few stumps until the heat brought the bugs out in large numbers.

Looks like I'll have another place to hunt next fall. Any one interested, come and join me.
I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.
