father son day 3D
« on: April 19, 2009, 08:53:00 PM »
Hey all, I just wanted to share with you what was one of my best days in along time!! My son Jesse and I went to a local 3d shoot, something that we haven't done since he was about 12! at 19 now he is starting to show more intrest in trad archery, but not in hunting yet! he did go with me when he was younger for turkeys and deer, but never showed intrest in hunting and i didn't push it!! Today was a very fun day for the both of us, and he even took the bow ,quiver, arrows, arm guard, and shooting glove home with him so he can go shoot at a local range every now and again!  The bow is a self bow that linc built for me a few years back and jesse always liked it!! so all you fathers enjoy the kids and keep posting your family storys as i love to read and see these wonderful outings, brings back memorys !! heres a few pics of the day!!  and mysticbow you missed a fun time bud!!

I love shooting with my boys! These are days that I will never forget. My 15 year old will be going after turkey for the first time this weekend. I can't wait!

Getting them kids involved and keeping them with it is a good thing.....,for you and them, keep at it, time passes way to fast. Next thing ya know you'll be taken your grand kids, or least lets hope so..lol...

Hey Jim,
Figures I had to work at the last minute eh. Sorry I had to missed what was undoubtedly  an excellent day shooting with you and your son. My son used to go with me to every shoot we could find since he was eight years old.  He is away at college now and I really miss that! I wont miss the next one bud. Work isn't everything.

Hey john,If I had a chance to I would have too, with the ecom the way it is!! We were the only trad people there I think, we didn't keep score and just shot for fun,so we didn't post up scores!! clay had the trad stakes way to close, I don't think any of the targets were over 20 and most in the 10 to 15 yard range, we shot from different stakes each target, what ever looked like a challenge!! we will catch you a some point this summer at one of the locals and maybe i can drag linc out too!!

Same with Deerslayer's yesterday. Most targets were pretty close. After the first few targets we started shooting from where ever we wanted. None of kept score anyway. "Don't need no stinkin score cards". Just had fun.

Hi Jesse son of my buddy Jim. Sorry to hear about your hand. What a bummer.

Hey Linc. I didn't look to see that Deerslayers was having a shoot before I agreed to go to a shoot in Oriskany Falls on Sunday.
It looks like the next scheduled shoot is at F.M. Are either of you two going?
