Has anybody out there had to deal with hunting turkeys in kinda rainy cloudy weather? I am going out this weekend, but it is supposed to be kinda like that outside and was wondering if it is gonna effect the turkeys daily patterns? We hunt close to the roost near a big open feed field!! So just wondering if ya'll have had to do it in this kind of weather? Thank you

Turkeys dont like getting their feathers wet, they will tend to stay in open areas in wet weather. The best turkey hunting day I ever had was when a thunder storm was coming, it would thunder and every gobbler in the woods would gobble. It is nice to know where all the birds are.
They also come off the roost late on cloudy and rainy days.

yekrut hunt! I've seen birds moving in heavy rains before, and last weekend had gobbling like crazy as t-storms moved in/through, even rained a bit on us and STILL they gobbled.
so much for the wives tale on roosted birds with wet feathers not gobbling@!

I( love hunting birds on rainy days. Most guys stay home but the birds are active and head for open fields. Should the rain stop and sun shine get ready!
