Check with John Dill at Annawakee Archery. He is an ex marine and has a shop in your area.

I sure do recall copperheads on that range at CLNC. I shot a wheel when i was there, but it wasn't far removed from a recurve-about two generations. We have two original Allen Compounds in our shop here in NV.

A bunch of us from 2nd tanks/2nd FSSG used to shoot everyday at noon(15+ years ago) and yes I do remember nearly stepping on many copperheads. I dont know if the range is in the same spot but around 91 they cut a big chunk of the woods and range out to build the new commisarry/exchange/credit union.

My youngest son is in the 2nd LAR down there. He and several of his buddies have been enjoying that range with their stickbows for the last 9 months or so. He was in on pre deployment leave last week and brought all of his gear home. I think a lot of the stickbow shooters are in the same boat. They are all heading to Afghanistan.

R.V.T.B and Roadkill, give my best to your Son and Daughter as well as my thanks for continuing on the tradition where we left off.
I was stationed here from 97-2000, and occasionally get to teach, or deliver gear on the base. My brother was with 2nd LAR 99-2000, and I know just where that it is.
No copperheads seen in the few days I spent out there, and walked the 3d course a couple days.

I remember the range at Lejeune being loaded with copperheads in the mid to late 70s.
