northern missouri turkeys
« on: May 01, 2009, 10:38:00 AM »
got back last night from a week of bowhunting turkeys in northern missouri.  never worked a bird all week.  it was cold, rainy and the birds were henned up bad.  tuesday a bird gobbled to the south of me but a hen appeared to by left and headed straight to the bird.  needless to say he did not gobble long after that.  wednesday had a bird strutting in the field 100yds away with two hens.  a coyote appeared and headed straight to the gobbler.  i thought the gobbler was toast.  he stood his ground and the coyote went right past him.  even though i did not get to pull my bowstring back i did see some strutters and found new deer trails for this fall.
   anyone else hunting northern missouri?

The hunt is the trophy!
