Year of the Elk
« on: May 01, 2009, 04:37:00 PM »
...Hunting elk that is...

September looks to be a busy bow season for me.  I'll have my regular trip to Spearhead for goats and mulies and then my year of the elk begins!  In addition to hunting wapiti at West Boulder Ranch with Doug and Jeff, I have just been notified by North Dakota Game and Fish that I have drawn a once-in-a-lifetime elk tag for ND.  Wooohooooo!!!!!!  :bigsmyl:

Needless to say, I'm starting my weekend with a grin that's ear to ear!  Only 575 tags are issued annually and I feel very blessed to have one of them.  Now if I'm really blessed, I might just need a new freezer.  That would be down right amazing   :biglaugh:  !

Claudia,

I just saw a picture of a GIANT North Dakota bull.  It was a tremendous picture.  I'll try to find it and post it up for you for inspiration

Claudia,
I sent you a personal email, please disregard it. One of my friends was also drawn for an elk tag and I got the information from him. Congratulations on your successful draw and enjoy your fall!

Thanks everyone!
Tippit, I can't wait to see the smile on your face when you hear those bulls screaming at you on the mountain.  It will be like nothing else you have ever experienced in hunting...and I'm glad that I'm gonna be there with you and Doug for the whole adventure.
But for now...looks like I better hit the treadmill.  Those elk can live in some serious country!

What a month that is going to be!  Truly a dream season - any one of those hunts would be the envy of all of us.  And you get to pack them all into one fall!

Oh man, this is gonna be some GOOD reading here!
I can't wait to read   and see all the pictures  of your adventures this fall. Hit the treadmill a lick for me, as well!
Oh yeah, congrats on making your own good luck in this lifecycle, too. Planning and hard work, combined with common sense and a horseshoe lead to the time and opportunity to do the good stuff.
