Hello Gangers. It's been a while since I posted last but I've been following all the stories and topics with much excitement and interest.I finally connected this morning on a nice bird. It's been quite frustrating trying go all bow cause the birds I'm hunting are getting pressured quite a bit. Prior to this morning I've called in 6 birds, jakes and gobblers, with one shot wearing the ghillie and one maple sapling to show for it. I set up a blind this time in a secluded field and decided to take the silent route. Let the dekes work and boy they did. I set up in the corner of the field and birds started to gobble behind me. After flydown all went quite. I called periodically till about 8:30 when out in front of me across the field here comes not one but five redheads. A long slow approach of about 135yds and they are at 8yrds! circling my deke. The lead bird faced my deke which put him broadside then pick a spot, burn, release, OH Cr__! He moved. THONK!. The arrow hit him in the wing butt then exited out his chest.A bad angle a little forward. All the birds walked back the way they came and at 50yrds I sent another arrow past his head. I called my brother and said bring the dog. Autumn is my lab. 1/2 goes by and he shows up. I followed and marked a blood trail for about 40yds on a trail until it went down into a bottom. We started hunting the dog in that area then off she goes. My brother looks and me as says, "should we follow her?" We took off and as we were running I hear her kick the bird up. Put, Put, Put off to the swamp it goes with her on it like a shot. She rolled it and jumped on it securing it to the ground. I got to it and picked it up by the neck and it died withing 30 seconds. Whooo! Here's some pics guys. I've got to go. Congratulations all on your turkey sucesses.
