BW PSA Limb Testing First Results
« on: May 13, 2009, 05:06:00 PM »
Ok guys I just returned from the basement, where I did the f-d curve measurements. All the limbs were from the same material. ActionBoo Core, Bocote Veneers, Clear Glass.

The columns from left to right are:

Draw Length / Draw weight / Stored Energy

56"

26:  44.6  /  35.04

27:  47.2  /  38.87

28:  50.2  /  42.92

29:  53.2  /  47.23

30:  56.8  /  51.81

58"

26:  44.9  /  36.12

27:  47.3  /  39.96

28:  50.1  /  44.02

29:  52.9  /  48.31

30:  56.1  /  52.85

60"

26:  45.2  /  36.77

27:  47.8  /  40.64

28:  50.1  /  44.71

29:  52.7  /  48.99

30:  55.6  /  53.50

62"

26:  45.9  /  37.43

27:  48.1  /  41.35

28:  50.4  /  45.45

29:  52.9  /  49.75

30:  55.6   / 54.27

By looking at the numbers, the limbs are only .3 lbs apart at 28". Really good job Toby.

I hope I can get all the test arrows prepared and ready to go tomorrow.

I've owned Widows for the past 12 years, really looking forward to your information.  Not that it'll change my mind on the brand, just curious how things lay out.

Notice how the 62" bow is storeing 5.5% more at 26" then the 56" and 4.5% more at 30". We'll see what his results are but the longer bow should be more efficient also. Even if it's the same efficiency you'd have to draw the 56" bow to 27" to match the 62" at 26". The notion shorter bows are better performance wise for shorter draw lengths is a myth spread on flawed theory....O.L.

I sure hope you find time to shoot these bows with 12 and 15 gr/# arrows.  I think it would be very interesting to see the differences in efficency.
