From my experience it does not change spine.

The ones that I've tried thus far have been in the ICS 500's and I noticed a definite weakening of the spine. I think they seem to react different for everybody.

save the $12.00 for the weight tubes.. I've been using 1/8" poly rope for years.. A couple bucks for 50' goes a long way. Cut to length, melt the ends and your in business..
Add about 80 grains (does not affect the spine)..

I went to the archery shop to put a 1" cut on the grain scale and of course they were closed. I'll let you know tomorrow. I'm guessing it's significant though. I spent all last night trying to get the right weighted combo for my bearquest hunt in 3 weeks. I was very happy with the performance/flight of the arrow. And I'm gonna guess 8 GPI

They are a great way to add weight. They will not affect static spine but they WILL change dynamic spine by weakening it by a couple of lbs. Folks may want to argue the point but the laws of physics demand that the dynamic spine weakens merely by adding weight along the entire length of the shaft. You may or may not NOTICE the wekening, depending on if you have a marginal spine setup or not, but it's there.

So the tubes add 5 gpi. I got my 3555 shaft to 685 which is sweet I'm happy with that. Not bad for $3

UPDATE::
so adding 29" of tube to my 30 GT 3555 put my arrows at avg of 685 from their avg of 540.
Put through the chronograph tonight out of my 53# @28 ACS
the arrows went from 175 FPS to 158 FPS which is 17 FPS slower. I'l say this, though it is VERY noticable The arrow seems to be more stable which i'm happy about.. And my bow used to shoot pretty FLAT out to 30 yds... It's now 20 .. LOL..
Seems good enogh for 10 yd Bears for Bearquest in 2 weeks...
