I started out with right wing fletching on all my arrows. I heard others saying they preferred left wing, but no one ever gave a reason. I have finally found a reason to prefer left wing feathers. With right wing fletching my arrow spins left or counter clockwise. When it hits the target the point often unscrews a little bit making it much harder to remoce the arrow from some target bags. Is my reasoning correct on this and do you guys have any  other reasons for preferring right or left wing fletching?

Oops I meant left wing, rotates counter clockwise, but you get my drift.

I'm a left-handed shooter and I prefer right wing feathers for two reasons:

I like touching the feather to my nose at full draw and I can't do that with a left wing fletch.

Many told me it didn't matter for optimum clearance but it might in certain cases.
May your next adventure lighten your heart, test your spirit, and nourish your soul.

screw in tips come loose with left wing fletching. I shoot woodies now so no biggy on that.

It is all a personal thing. Find out which one works for You best and use that one.

I always shoot right wing because I have right wing fletching jigs.Best reason for shooting a certain feather that I know of.  ;)
....Quality deer management means shooting them before they get tough....

Remember if you use a single bevel you need the same fletching. Right bevel right wing feather.

I shoot all left wing. Something to keep in mind is pick one or the other and stay with that one. Dont mix and match on an arrow or mix and match from arrow to arrow.
