Thanks guys! Yeah, he's a great bear, and I'm a very blessed guy.
I saw him last year on the same bait and he was the only bear that didn't present a shot. I was hopeful he'd show up this spring and sure enough he did.
At 8pm he waddled in and again was nervous but on his 3rd attempt finally made it to the bait. With video rollin' I waited for the right shot and at 15 yards sent an arrow through both lungs. He ran 75 yards and was dead in less than 15 seconds.
I used a Cari-bow Wolverine (50 lbs at my 27" draw) with CX150's (Heritage) tipped with 155 Tusker Concords (rt. bevel and tanto tipped) with 75 gr. adapters and a 100 grain brass insert. Total arrow weight is 640 grains.
The arrow zipped through very quickly striking the barrel behind the bear. The head is still sharp and not damaged with the arrow and head still spin testing perfect.
