Congratulations on a GREAT bear, I was just up your way two weeks ago, hunting by Riding Mountain Park, with your late spring, the lake was still frozen, and some snow still in the bush, we didn't see many bears. On the bright side there were'nt any mosquitoes, and very few ticks!
Again; a great bear and story.

As far as weight....I am horrible at estimating. I'd safely say 300 lbs or slightly a bit more. He isn't overly tall or long making his thickness look even more than it would on a bear with longer dimensions. I can accurately say that he is the biggest 19"er I've ever seen...EVER! He scores 19 3/16 and that was a shock that he scored so little. I've been fortunate enough to kill 3 bears over 21"s and a few more in the 20's and this guy does not fit the typical mold.
Honestly though....the score thing is a "nice to know" thing for me but doesn't matter to me like it once did. Thanks again everyone....Ryan

Amazing!! I don't know what I'd do if I got a chance at a bear like that.
I've never been bear hunting. Your picture is well taken and fuels my imagination for bear hunting.
If I got a bear like that and someone asked what it scores or what it weighs, I'd say, who cares! look at him.
However I'm curious, so I must ask.... what did he weigh?
Thanks for sharing the picture and story.

Duane,
Just go back a page...he estimated at least 300#. Don't worry; if you can shoot bucks like that in your avatar you are going to be fine on any big ol' bear!

Ryan, unless you represent the "Lolly pop guild" that is one huge bear!!!
Congratulations my friend (we have never met, but if you have a place to hunt that has bears like this-we need to be friends
-)
It's going to be hard to top that bear for sure.
