ok so i admit ive only recently been bitten by the trad bug, but i can thank my love/insane obsession to the sport of bowfishing to help me rid my hunting gear of all sights, wheels cabeles and machined aluminum when in the woods. after i got home form the middle east i had a homemade reel seat on an old browning compound fall to the bottom of my brand new carp rigi made a couple calls and had a new pse kingfisher at my door ina few days, well fast forward 2 months and i noticed both limbs cracked and warped beyond repair and backordered for 3 months i went back to the compound with a firebrand intensity, which i have been able to dunk in lake redrock and get thrown around the boat amongst flopping fishand then last march ams came out with their fishhawk bowswith an advertised 15 percent let off, after 2 tubs of fish i noticed i could handle the little to no felt letoff all day long and i started looking once again for hunting gear and hit up ebay where i found my root gamemaster that i used this year for sevearl wonderfull and heart pounding near misses....yes i admit after 2 years of nothing but aiming low i thought hey deer aim dead on....well i shoulda let bowfishing shooting take over as i missed 3 does 6 times, all shots went high, and after a visit with kent osterem from mahaska bows i now own a very gently used mahaska flatbow and have found a bow that i deem too durn nice for fish use, but hey thats what the fishhawks are for, just thought id share how i got started....and if anyone wants to go shoot fish in southern ia lemme know im itching to get out, i have to get a part for my troller but i wont let cool temps stop me
