I like eastern diamondback skins on a bow.Are you planning on doing them yourself? You can get western diamondbacks at good prices on e**y but other types of skins run higher if you can find them.Have you thought about limsations from Onestringer.com,they run around $20 and you can install them easier and you can remove them without harming the finish of your bow.

Just don't order your skins from "American Headhunter"
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

I love copperheads, but they are hard to get.  My next favorite are Prairie Rattler skins.  I recommend Pine Hollow for a source.

Prairie Rattler have a nice pattern. I used them on a LAG but the photos are gone.

I recommend Pine Hollow, too. The skins will be matched

Take a look at the Bull snake skin on the Pine Hollow website. I just had it put on my son's Texas Ebony and Osage bow and it looks great.

Another place to look at pix of skins is the American Headhunter website.

Maineac, sorry to hear you had a bad experience with them. I have received 4 very nice matched sets of skins from them in the last month with no issues. Matter of fact Paul went out of his way to set them aside for me until the checks arrived.

Best of luck in your search for skins RUTANDSTRUT their are a lot of nice ones out there.

I put a set of rattle snake skins on a Bear Super Kodiak one time.Came out real nice .But it had a greenish tint to it.I was told later that happens with the black limbs.I was still pleased with it.I got my skins from 3Rivers.They were a nice match.

Copperheads are sweet but it would be a waste to put them on a dark wood like ironwood.

They look best on a lighter colored wood and they burst into color when put on osage limbs.

Agree...they look best over osage, maple, yew or other light wood.

If I had a dark wide limb I'd go with either Prairie Rattler or a Eastern Diamondback, but that is just me.

Copperheads are thin...almost transparent, they are almost like colored saran wrap.

Copperheads over brown glass:

People have posted some amazing photos of Prairie rattlers.
