Iowa has many successful city bowhunt programs. I believe all but one of our largest cities uses the IDNR city deer bowhunting program. Iowa City however for political reasons likes it's tax payers to foot the bill by hiring sharp shooters. At one time I recall hearing when one management year was complete the cost per dead deer averaged close to $100.00 per head.
Now that's how I'd like my tax dollars spent....
