Unstring??

I shoot my recure almost everyday, should I unstring it at night?? I keep the bow inside my house.

Nope.  Only tiem I unstring bows is for transport.  Your chances of running into trouble unstringing all the time are much, much higher than your chances of hurting a bow by leaving it strung.

What Jeff said as long as we are talking glass-backed bows.  A selfbow or composit made of natural materials should never be left strung any longer than necessary.

What Jeff says!!!!!!!  I have had my recurve for 35 yrs.  I only unstring it for air plane flights or to change the string.  It started out at 70 lbs. and is still the same and the limbs are straight.

Technically, I agree with what has been said, but looking at it from another direction: how many of us have our bows strung and hanging from a nice rack for all the world to see? Then ask yourself if you would hang your shotgun, rifle or handgun, unlocked, on the wall. Especially if you have kids in the house. In theory, a strung bow is just as lethal as an unlocked firearm, especially if you have some arrows on display as well. It might not be your kids that get it down off the wall, it could be one of their buddies.

What Jeff said works for me as well. The bows I use regularly stay strung for years.

Me too.. A bow that I shoot often stays strung all the time.. I do hang the bow (horizontally) from the string when not in use.

I leave all of my GLASS bows strung also.
