This is where i started, at dawn

First flight to Amsterdam, second to Seattle, and then to Lewiston, where i landed at sunset.

On by car

Into redneck country, everything is just like home

Curtis of 7th age bowhunting drove his truck up from south of San Antonio.

Starting the last leg, where pickup trucks stop snowmobiles start (and stop).

More when i have time, unfortunately my camera has a focus motor that is audible to bears and wolves alike  - so no pictures of those

Ted,

As long as it is taking this story to get told you would think that Gary was doing the telling.  :jumper:

Sorry Ted, I came home a day before hosting another hunt. Just now getting settled.

It was a great trip all the way around. The trip in was enough adventure to last a very long time.  :D   I only know of one night that I didn't see bears. Other nights I had lots of bears. I've even got the video of one walking up to sniff the camera in my hand.  :scared:   That made my trip!

I heard from Shane a few days ago. He says he's been swamped playing catch-up. I've got 780 pics to download of this trip and I'll be back. Carry-on with the pics Krister. CK

Ted

I assume you've learned how to better aquire bear bait than this picture I have stuck in my head from....wow, was that as long ago as I really think!

Picture Ted, knife in hand stradling this big ol heffer that had died weeks prior during calfing.  Ya, she was bloatted, but it was all we could find at the time.  PPhhhhhhoooooo!! as the knife goes in....and yup, Teds cookies all over the cowpies.  Wish I had a picture of that one, ha!

Yes Doug , that was long ago , matter of fact Joey was about 2 then , he is almost 19 now.
Just to set the record straight I came as close as I ever did without actually blowing, remember the maggots falling off the back of your truck as we drove through Halfway, bet the rancher that gave us the dead cow is still telling that story.
Curtis , if you can get that video on here , you guys would not believe how close the bear gets to that skinny Texan  and all he does is lay there and keep filming, this was on the ground mind you.

Keep it coming boys! This is the first time anybody thats hunted bears with Ted has ever come out of the woods to tell the story.

Ted - can you just imagine what that bear thought when he saw that skinny Texan sittin there with a snake in his hands. More meat on that bow than on Curtis!

Well, I've tried over and over to figure out how to host and post the video of the bear. Too technical!  :knothead:    :help:

I've downloaded a few pics. This one makes me wonder what exactly is being said? I'm sure it's a hunting story.

One of the hords of Hummingbirds that were ever present.

A snack from the woods, Fiddlehead fern. They taste great. They have a slight green bean flavor crossed with an SOME OTHER VEGETABLE.

I'll post more later. CK

Ah men Dave , more sinew on Curtis than the bow however.
Curtis , the fiddle heads taste like green beans cooked with almonds , Yum.
Dont forget all the fresh mushrooms either.
Nobody suffered from malnutrition on this trip.
Most likely Gary and I were talking about solving some world issue or where we were going to put the Texan that afternoon for hunting.
One more day , if Shane does not get on here and start talking I will start for him, same with you Krister, how about a story about Wolves?

Yea, wolves....I never realized that their feet are bigger than mine.

Here's a pic of the guy who had wolves at 8" and got busted drawing his camera.

Krister was my roomy at bear camp. He talks kinda funny. Norway is a little further North than I generally go.  :D

Our resident TV Host, Scott.

and one of Ted's wife Lois working on my wife a basket. Debbie loved her basket once I got it home to Texas.
