Shrew On The Way!
« on: June 08, 2009, 10:17:00 PM »
I have been injuried and unable to shoot the last few months, but hopefully have mended and am ready to get back in the game.   I have a Shrew coming my way this week (Thanks Ralph) and just want to know what to expect.  Can any of you guys with Shrews give me some advice or pointers on your shrews? Mine will be a SS Samuri.... I hope this grip is all that everyone says it is. I shot a shrew a few times and even had one at the house for about 24 hours one time, but never spent much time with it.  Thanks to anybody who can help me out...

How is the shock after the shot, and vibration on these bows?  Thanks
Blessings,
Steve

There is no hand shock or vibration on my Shrew that is 51lbs@28" draw length. I think that you will love the Shrew. Good Luck with it.

Steve,
Shot this bow at the Hill shoot this past weekend. Very nice, beautiful bow. Shoots quiet and DEAD in the hand... zero shock imo. The grip is awesome on it. Wish my Centaur had the Shrew's grip. Hope you enjoy it, and did Ralph autograph it for you. LOL.

I've shot a wide variety of spines and weights out of my Shrew and Griffen at various brace heights. Never felt the first twinge of hand shock or vibration. The grip is marvelous for me, and I think that most people like it. Enjoy your bow!

It is great being in trad archery and living a few doors down from Steve.  I think that I have been able to shoot a lot of different bows.  Now I can add a shrew to the list.

The grip is the grip, you are gonna like it or you won't.  I like it, zero handshock and the quietest bow I've owned.

Just wait until you get the Shrew and then decide for yourself. Most people love them, like me, but everyone is different. I doubt you will be disappointed. Congratulations on the bow and your healing.

I've had my shrew for about a week now.(58" 56lb @ 28"SS)When I First started shootin it I could'nt get the grip to fit me.I've been shootin a Bear Grizzly for about 10 years and the grip is totally different for me. There was no way I was not gonna learn to shoot this awesome preforming bow. After a few days my hand melted into the riser. I feel like I was born with this bow in my hand. You will not be disappointed. Smooth draw with no hand shock. A while back I read on this form that shrews were not known for their speed. I shoot a 665 grain arra out of mine and it smokes.

I got my Shrew ss gold in Oct '08, and have enjoyed shooting it. Shot 3 rounds at the HH shoot this weekend (90 targets), and had no problems with hand shock, or finger pinch. Only missed one target, stupid pine tree ran in front of the hog I was shooting at. Enjoy your new bow.
I always hit where I'm aiming, but rarely where I'm looking.

Steve,
You won't like this bow at all!  I'm gonna p.m. you my address--just go ahead and send it down here.   LOL.
Seriously, you're in for a treat. She's going to feel REAL light on your bow hand. Don't be too quick to judge what you think about her. Give yourself some time to adjust to the light weight.
I'm only as good as my first shot.

The Shrew is my favorite.  I think you are in for a treat. Best grip of any bow I have tried.  Smooth and quiet and hits where you look.  Cangratulations!
