What most people miss from Howards old movies is how absolutely steady his left arm is. Not on moving shots at short distances since he appears to promote this "follow thru" approach, but when you watch his shooting form on stationary targets he just has a rock solid bow arm...hardly moves at all. This is part of the key to his shooting, that steady bow arm.
