Afternoon hunt
« on: June 21, 2009, 09:58:00 AM »
Went on a little hunt with TJ(goes by fountain on here)yesterday afternoon. We were slipping along and, around 8:30, happened to spot a group of pigs up ahead of us. We noticed they were heading our way pretty quick, so we frantically searched for a good spot for a hasty ambush. No sooner than we got hid and I got an arrow on the string, the first pigs appeared. About the third and fourth ones to come by were good shooters, but I decided to pass on them because I knew there were some bigger ones on the way. About 20 seconds later a pig further down the line must have caught a little whiff of us. It let out a grunt that spooked the whole group, but they didn't run. I knew we had pressed our luck enough, so I picked out a pig at 8 or 9 yards, found a hole, drew my bow and.........

TJ was directly behind me.  I knew he was watching and I admit, I was a little rattled.  You don't want to blow it with an audience.  I focused hard on a particular spot on the pigs side and let fly.  The next thing I saw was my arrow disappearing on that spot.  Pigs exploded in all directions.  After a little bit, we took up the trail.  We started seeing stuff like this...
