Mike (Arrow k9) and I took my son Nate out this morning on his first bowfishing adventure.
When we got there the fish were everywhere. It was hilarious watching Nate shoot above fish after fish, then rush to get the arrow back while Mike and I kept pointing out fish and telling him to shoot lower. After about a dozen shots he got it dialed in and landed his first ever bow kill.
The fish stayed up in the shallows giving Nate several more opportunities until the sun got too high and pushed them off. He ended up sticking two more, one of which gave him a heck of a fight, but they spun off in the grass before we could boat them. Mike and I got in on the action to round out the morning with a total of six coming to the boat. Here's Nate and I with the catch.
The best part of the day was having Nate tell us he thought bowfishing was the most fun he'd ever had. Now maybe that X-Box will gather some dust!
One more of Nate's first...
