paul(blacktailbowhunter) and i made the 300 mile journey this weekend to the hunting area to see what the elk woods had to offer.we had a good time stump shooting and hiking around looking for sign.we found plenty of green grass,tracks and well...i'll let the pics tell the rest of the story

we walked up the road into my favorite hunting area and we both smelled elk before we saw them...i started cow calling and we had a virtual elk frenzy around us.they were talking back and forth with me as i used the lost cow talk on them.

we had two different herds of 15-20 elk each above and below us.the elk were not wise to us being there as you can see by the grazing relaxed attitude
