In camo we have both the Mountain Mimicry and the new Optifade clothing available.  Also, the light-green "street" color they make looks really sharp for those who don't want camo.

How is the fit on the baselayer stuff from Sitka? For example does the shirt fit like a t shirt or like under armour stuff? I don't want my muscles to scare everything away.

The Sitka "Core" layer fits like normal long underwear....some of that UA stuff is a compression layer....

Mike, it was good seeing you also.  I wish my shoulder recovery had been a little farther along and we could have shot together.  

Curt, I couldn't agree more.  The new line of SG clothing is very comfy, and that's a very good thing on a long remote hunt.  This fall I'll be chasing moose in the new Optifade gear and my guess is that they don't stand a chance.

Free shipping is very nice; you don't usually see deals on Sitka Gear.  It does not surprise me one bit that a top end company like A&H carries Sitka Gear.  I know John and Larry test their product line out in a very scientific way and you can bet if they offer it, it is worth every penny.

Another note:  Take a look at the current Bugle Magazine from RMEF.  Not only is the Sage Green fashionable around town; some use it to hunt in as well

Kevin, the core and ascent products are the gems of the line for early season or those that hunt in warmer climates.

I have never had a product wick as well as the core zip-t; it is by far the most efficient base layer I've used and I wear it exclusively hunting in our hot weather down here. The ascent top works great as a second layer.

The ascent pants are tied for my favorite with the core zip-t. Very light, breathable, and I like the stretch in the material. Extremely comfortable. If you are looking for something to use in warmer weather, buy these two products and you'll be sold.

The newer "heavy" clothing is improved too. For you Alaska guys they have really stepped up the performance for their cold gear stuff.

I really like vests; Sitka now has 4 with different models that have some pretty cool applications. Check out the website for more info.

John, glad to see you paired up with Sitka. I think you two high performance manufacturers will work well together.

If you buy the Sitka gear, think of it like a system. If you layer with their products, not only will you stay warm, you'll stay DRY.

This "IS" great news. Ive been toying with the idea of some real light weight gear for those hot days I'm going to be seeing next year. So many options to choose from at Sitka; what would be ideal for those 70 deg days?

Casey, I'd say that Joe up above my previous post lays out a good description for what's well suited to warm weather.  Good advice based on first-hand experience is hard to beat!
