Bare shafting help for left hander ??

Ok everything seems to be written for right handers. So if a right hand shooters bare shafts are grouping left the reason would be Over spined (stiff)

So if a left hand shooters bare shafts are grouping left would the reason be under spined (weak) ??

Trying to figure this out for tomorrow. I wasted tonight trying to bareshaft at 11 yards where it seems every combination bare shaft hit left. full length 35/55 goldtips with standard inserts and with 50gr brass inserts, 28" 2013, 29" 2213, and tried 125gr and 145gr tips. I determined 11 yards must not be far enough away. I am hoping to use the goldtips.

My specs are
Brand new Fedora Stalker 52" (shoots where I look and groups well with feathers)
53# @ 26"
braced at 7 1/2"

P.S. I think your way stiff, put in 100grn inserts. I have read that more ppl on here uses 100grn inserts on all different kinds of carbor arrows.

mysticguido Thanks that the site I am trying to use. But it is set up for right handers. So I want to know if its the oppisite for left handers for stiff vs. weak. I figured I might have to go with the 100gr inserts

Hi Ron

    Yes its just the opposite for us leftys. I find the 35/55's work real well for me. 29" draw shafts 30.5" to BOP 125-145 points with 50 gr brass inserts. If your shafts are cut to 28" to BOP they are stiffer than mine cut at 30.5" to BOP. I usually shoot at 20 yards to tune. Hope that helps ya brother lefty.

Thanks Brent. At 20 yards I doubt I am accurate enough to tune. I will try 15 yds if the rain stops today.

Ok At 15 yds my bareshaft Goldtip 35/55 full length with 50gr insert and 145gr point hits left 4-5" with me being a left hander this means my arrow is weak. Right? So tomorrow I will try a 125gr tip and if it still shows weak I will try a standard insert and 145gr tip.

Its also hitting low so maybe I should play with my nocking point first?

yep, up down first, then right left.

I re-wrote the wording to left handed for myself, including the diagrams.  It was alot easier than always trying to invert the stiff and weak signs.  Once I had it redone it was a breeze to tune.

If I read it right you are drawing 53# at 26 inches. If you've decided that they are to weak in spine I'd try shortening them next.

I shoot 50# at 27" with 29 inch 35/55 and have 100 grain brass added and use 175 grn point total arrow weight 530 to 540 gns

I shot today and got my nock set and used 30" 35/55 50gr insert and 125gr tip and it still showed weak.

I could cut the shaft down making it stiffer but I also need more total weight so more weight up front which would make it weaker.

I have some 55/75's coming and some 100gr inserts and will try them as well.
