I have shot a few Pronghorns and have always liked them but have interest in a Royal. Has anyone shot both to compare the two?
Thanks .. God Bless

Both are well made bows from a couple of the best bowyers and gentlemen out there.
Wes does not make his Royal in a 3 pc TD longbow and I have only his one pc. The Pronghorn is a bit smoother and quieter, but the Royal is a bit faster.
I'm betting you would be happy with either one. (It's tough for me to make a firm preference of one over the other.)

I have them both, and both are excellent. I have the Royal in a two piece take down. THe bamboo limbs on my Royal are very quick and throw a heavy arrow with authority. The pronghorn is very quite. BOth bows have a nice easy draw. For me, both bows are very different so you have to try them to see if you have a preferance. Either way, you can not go wrong.

My vote is for the Royal. I have not shot the Pronghorn. I have a 68", 55#, 2 piece royal with bamboo limbs, that is an absolute dream to shoot. The bow is fast, quiet, with no stacking of any kind. Wes is a true gentleman and an artisan of the highest order his work is both beautiful and functional.
I agree though that you should try and find and shoot both to see which one fits you best. Bows really are very personal choices.

I think the grip is what will determine your preference. Both are quick with the Pronghorn having the edge on quiet.
