? Wooden Arrow, Robin Hood ?
« on: March 28, 2007, 12:25:00 PM »
I have seen a lot, not personally, of carbon and aluminum arrow robin hood shots.  Do you have some pictures of robin hood shots with woodies?  What happens to the first arrow, how does it split?
Obviously I have no confidence in my shooting ability providing me an answer.

Usually the spilt follows the grain once the point gets through the nock. The thinner piece of the two mostly breaks away. No wall strength.
Seen several split, but never stuck together like aluminums & carbons.

The only Robin Hoods I got are aluminum.  Carbon and wood always shatter.

outta my compound (i know, the evil bows) within the forst 10 shot at 20 yards i Robin Hooded a carbon arrow. when i got down to it, i had a 4 1/2 - 5 foot arrow. it just busted the nock and frayed the end....
If its brown its down; thats my motto.

gwhunter i have one, i will try and get a pic of it posted tomorrow when i get back to my shop. the arrow that hit the arrow in the target is hanging at a 45 angle due to the wood from the arrow it hit splitting, but they satyed together. it's the only robin hood i have ever had and i shot wheelies for 25 years. i found the mojo with traditional i guess.
